Single weave is lighter than a double weave garment, and better suited to a beginner or younger wearer due to its lighter weight. It is also great for training in hotter weather. The double weave fabrics offer better durability.
Cotton is a natural fibre and is easily washed. Cotton is a good strong fabric that is absorbent, and easy to work with. Cotton has a tendency to wrinkle very easily. Many people prefer the year-round "breathing" and lack of pilling of one hundred percent cotton.
Cotton/polyester blends have the advantage that they do not wrinkle so easily, and are therefore easier to care for. They can also be more light weight by utilising man made fibres in combination with natural cotton. These fabrics also shrink less than 100% cotton.
